WT, thanks for the virtual postcard! i'm 'green' with envy.

my pop is from a tiny little town in county kildare, casteldermot (about 50 miles south of dublin). in my early teens i would wander the roads between castledermot and carlow with a pool cue in one hand and a fly rod in the other. i'll bet the river lerr still has a few trout in it.. hint, hint ; )

may the four winds blow you safely home again...

ian

Hey William - I'm pleased to feel your good vibrations humming a little closer for a while. Raise a glass of the green poteen and another of the black stout in my direction and there's a big slainte mhath coming right back at you.

I have indeed raised many a pint and ordered even a handful of "quadrupel whiskys" (again, in Withnail's honor)...

Galway and Wexford have been spectacular...though the outlying countryside is more than enough to keep us busy, I find myself spending more and more time in the pubs: it's the wettest July here in many, many years...oh well--as we in AZ like to say, bring it on...the wetter and colder the better.

Will keep all your tips in mind. And check in again.

B. ... been to Wexford a few times, but more often i've spent my time in Enniscorthy, a small little city/town in Wexford county that harbours a great many pubs, but then what town in Ireland does not? Can't wait to hear more of your stories and adventures when you return ... peace! T.

William Tell:
Thank you for the warm greeting from overseas. I've never been there: do they have any alcoholic beverages over there?
I look forward to hearing about your travels when you return. Thanks a lot for remembering your friends back here in the Forum, --- AshesRising

In the words of Napoleon D. "LUCKYYYYY!"

Hope the trip has been amazing. Even though I am of Irish descent, my direct ancestor left (err, was kicked off to be precise) the island in the 1732 (it was prison or the colonies and he chose the latter), I feel a connection and will one day venture to the emeral isle. Have a safe trip back.
